The W Hotels brand was developed in 1998 as a brand that popularized the concept of a hotel lifestyle with a focus on fashion and design.
It embraces popular culture, contemporary design, and a range of special occasion attitudes. Each new W hotel is unique, but all have an entry level that encompasses all public areas, including a lobby or “living room,” bar, restaurant and indoor/outdoor “hubs.” Since 2020, W has operated 66 hotels in 25 countries with 16,494 rooms. The W Hotel in Prague will join the European W Hotels in Amsterdam, Barcelona, London, and Edinburgh.
W Marriott Prague Hotel
This is the former Grand Hotel Europa, located in one of the most prestigious and elite locations in Prague, Wenceslas Square. The building was built in 1872 in the neo-Renaissance style. It is famous because Franz Kafka held his only public author reading here in 1912.
We will furnish 40 rooms in the old part of the hotel and 120 rooms in the newly built extension in the former atrium. Stilles will carry out general supervision, prepare technical documentation, execute part of the final construction work, and take care of the manufacture and installation of all the interior fittings. Since the facility is located in Old Town, the most challenging part will be the logistics process. The works are expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2023.The hotel will also include a SPG keyless entry system that will allow guests to use their smartphones or watches to unlock the doors and enter the rooms. The design was developed by internationally acclaimed firm Chapman Taylor House, which was founded in 1959 and has offices in 17 countries.
