Our story
Our beginnings date back to 1945, when a small group of carpenters led by Mr. Durm joined forces in Sevnica. First, they only restored old furniture, but later begun to make furniture to order as well. The increased scope of work led to the establishment of the Sevnica Carpenters’ Production Cooperative in 1947. Over the years, the company participated in the furnishing of a number of commercial and government buildings and official residences. Increasing demand for period furniture led to the idea of the company developing its own line of period furniture for homes. In 1970, the company came to be called Stilles, period furniture and furnishings. The company begun to manufacture and install hotel furniture as well.
In 2010, the Polovič family gained a share in the company through their own company, AFP d.o.o. The current Chairman of the Board, begun an integral restructuring and in a few years the business model was led to a direction, where Stilles is capable of performing complete hotel equipement, from packages of necessary documentation to completion of construction works.
Today, Stilles is a market-oriented company that exports 95% of its products to the global markets on average. Hotel furnishing projects comprise 93 % of the company’s sales structure, while the rest is made up by sales of its own brand of furniture and production of components for the caravanning industry. Stilles is capable of realisation of complex and comprehensive projects of hotel furnishing, of size more than 40,000 m², in a way that all the important procedures (development, technical documentation preparation, production, logistics, installation, coordination of sellers and supervision) are managed by the company itself. The company utilizes a wide range of materials – from wood through glass, stone, metal, leather, textile and various composites.
